Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and does not require any technical climbing! All you need is walk slow but steady. For the summit to be reached, your body must sufficiently acclimatize itself. It is important to be physically, emotional and spiritual prepared for the Kilimanjaro Expedition.
Day 1 : Arusha to Mandara Hut
Day 2 : Mandara to Horombo Hut
Day 3 : Horombo – for acclimatization
Day 4 :Horombo to Kibo Hut
Day 5 :Kibo to Uhuru Peak and back to Horombo
Day 6 :Horombo to Arusha
After breakfast, leave the hotel to drive to Marangu Park Gate at an altitude of 1,860m. Walk to Mandara hut, 2,744m (9,000ft) through dense semi-tropical rain forest for meals and overnight.
Start early morning for a ten hours walk towards Horombo. The landscape becomes more rugged and rocky but superb, with both Mawenzi and Kibo peaks in view. Night at Horombo Hut, an altitude of 3,761m (12,335 ft)
This day will spend our day acclimatization by visit zebra rock and later back to the camp for hot lunch and relaxation,
Take a tiring 13kms walk, which takes 6 hrs to kibo hut 4,732m (15520 ft). Spectacular mountain vegetation appears. Meals and overnight at the kibo hut.
Wake up early morning 2.00 am .It takes about 5 hours to climb the steepest and most difficult part of the route to Gillman’s point [5681m] 18630 ft. From Gilman’s it takes 2 hours to Uhuru peak [5896m] 19344ft Descend to horombo for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, Descent is rapid to the gate where you will receive your certificate and enjoying hot lunch at the gate as well as champagne and later you drive back to your hotel in Arusha for relaxation waiting for your departure.
